These champions in Nevada’s fight to protect our climate have pledged to lead their cities to achieve Kyoto Treaty like goals for the reduction of global warming pollutants. Together they represent 45% of all Nevada citizens.

Nationwide, as of
05/01/2008, 840 mayors from all 50 states, Washington, DC, and Puerto Rico representing a total population of over 79.8 million US citizens have taken this step!

3. Saturday, April 14th at West Street Plaza (Brick Park) along
the Truckee River between Java Jungle and  the Riverside Theater, From 4-6pm:  Step-It-Up
National Day of Climate Action.  Picnic, music, and speakers.  We
joined over 1300 other US
actions happening on this day
across our country to build momentum for Global Warming solutions.

4. Thursday, April 19th 1-4pm,
the City of Reno’s Green Summit,
was open to the public, input and
suggestions were solicited. This was to be a forerunner
to the formation of a Green
Ribbon Commission which
will draft Reno’s Climate Action Plan.

5. Sunday April 22nd, we hosted
an Earth Day Booth, educating people on how to reduce greenhouse gasses, handing out
compact florescent bulbs, and
gathering signatures to help pressure Sierra Pacific to start up a voluntary green pricing program, allowing customers to buy as
high a percentage of green power
as they desire - right on their monthly utility bill.

We attended the Nevada Agricultural Summit 2006

A free showing of Al Gore's important documentary film
"An Inconvenient Truth"
was hosted on Sunday
October 22nd,  at the Unity Church of Reno.  It was made possible by the 'Spotlight on Global Warming' project of
Interfaith Power & Light.  If you would like
a showing of this movie, or any of the other ones in our resources, please

We had an Exhibit at the
Smart Living Expo on Saturday October 7th.

Along with this we participated in the
Pinecone Ball.

We hosted an Information Table at the
Conscious Community's Fall Celebration Saturday September 30th.
